HOW TO RECOVER FROM ANOREXIA ... Anorexia is an eating disorder that is characterized by skipping meals, only eating a small selection of low-calorie
foods, poor body image and perfectionism, according to Mental Health America. A person with anorexia may feel that her eating patterns are the only thing she
can control, making it more common among young people, primarily girls. If you are trying to eat to recover from anorexia, you may relapse a time or two before
you are able to engage in normal eating patterns. A meal plan for a recovering anorexic looks similar to a meal plan for anyone, but it will need to be modified
to help you gain weight and get healthy.
Find a therapist and nutritionist. By working with these professionals, you can address the reasons why you engage in anorexic behaviors as well as helping you
get started on developing healthy meal plans as you work toward recovery.Step 2
Include foods from all of the food groups. Your calorie needs are likely to be high at the beginning of your recovery, but incorporating a variety of healthy foods
will help you meet this goal while also getting the nutrients your body needs to get back to optimal health. This includes fruits, vegetables, whole grains, meats
and other sources of protein and dairy foods as well as the occasional treat.Step 3
Avoid restrictive and ritualistic behaviors. Anorexia causes food to become something to be feared, and you may have been going to great lengths to eat in such
a way that others won't notice what you are doing. Working with a therapist, you should begin to eat adequate portion sizes without engaging in the behaviors
that make others think you are eating. Stop cutting your food into tiny pieces and pushing it around on your plate. Change the way you think about forbidden
foods, and begin adding small amounts of them into your diet. If you avoid eating around others, begin doing so in social settings to help you begin eating good
foods in healthy amounts while others are around.
Make an eating schedule. Eating at consistent times each day allows you to increase calorie intake and eat to recover without having to worry about when it will
happen. This will help your body relearn how to eat meals and snacks every couple of hours and will help you recognize hunger and fullness cues that
characterize normal eating patterns.
Don't diet. As you get back to a normal weight range, eat plenty of nutritious food and consume treats in moderation. By doing this, you will realize what foods
make you feel good and which ones put your recovery in jeopardy. It will also help you get more comfortable with normal eating habits.
Keep a food journal. Write down what you eat, when you eat it and how that food made you feel. Not only does this make it easier to keep track of your calorie
intake, but it helps you determine the foods and times of day that put you at risk of anorexic behaviors so that you can learn alternate ways to deal with these

Please remember, these are only examples!!
When starting on a new eating disorder meal plan, keep in mind that it might feel like a lot of food at first. I sure did when I looked at my meal plan and
wondered if I was going to gain weight if I ate all the food on it! Others may need a recovery meal plan that will help them lose weight. Again, make sure you talk
to your dietitian to ensure that your meal plan is going to meet all of your nutritional needs. Everyone is different!
Overcoming eating disorders starts with a good meal plan. Then you can learn all of the many facets of how to recover from an eating disorder. Make sure that
when you begin a new meal plan that you TRUST that it is right for your body. Remember that your body will reset to its ‘correct’ size over time. In the early
stages of the re-feeding process, your body might go through some major changes. Again, this is normal. Your digestive system needs time to repair and become
accustomed to eating the foods it needs in the correct proportions. Your body might also change. You should definitely be prepared to face your body image
issues with your therapist or treatment team at this point, because they will definitely come up and at times can be very intense. Don’t give up! Trust that your
body is changing for the better. You are getting healthy again! It also might feel overwhelming to have to eat 3 meals and 3 snacks a day. In the beginning it
seemed like a lot for me, because I had been abusing my body with restricting, binge eating, and purging for years that I had no idea what eating ‘normally’ was.
Trust the process. Get support from your treatment team. By eating 3 meals and 3 snacks we can escape the dieting mentality and break free from the
restricting/binging/purging cycle. It keeps our energy and metabolism up while giving us the nourishment we need.
You can recover from your eating disorder! Overcoming an eating disorder and learning self care and self love is a process so please take it easy on yourself.

Extreme weight loss is usually the biggest warning sign. Someone who suddenly grows thin without a good reason to it should be scrutinized.
In girls with anorexia, monthly periods tend to become extremely irregular or even stop completely.
Constant dizziness. Light-headedness is a common feature in anorexic patients. Lack of food makes the body weak.
Low body temperature. An anorexic patient always feels cold despite warm weather conditions. They are always hurdled up in jackets to keep the cold away.
Thinning hair. The body lacks proper nutrients to keep the hair healthy, glossy and thick. It dries up and thins out gradually.
Dehydration. The whole body becomes dehydrated and the skin is the first revealer of this problem. It appears completely dry.
With anorexia, one’s health generally deteriorates. Everything goes wrong. Some conditions eventually become irreversible or even prove to be fatal.
Emotional and behavioral anorexia symptoms
Anorexia tends to start from emotional problems and builds up to physical problems. It starts with the need to become thin probably due to bullying, lack of
appreciation of one’s body and certain insecurities.
Withdrawal from family and friends. Anorexic patients feel the need to be alone where they can analyze their bodies and torture their minds.
Constant fear of gaining any weight. One always measures their weight and even set a certain target. The problem is, even when they reach their target,
dissatisfaction still rules them d they set a new one. It’s an addiction.
Depression. With the constant pressure they put on themselves, anorexic patients tend to develop depression. This is also aggravated by their withdrawal from
A significant drop in libido. Anorexia makes one lose interest in sex. This is brought by the insecurity about their body and also, lack of strength.
Development of strange eating habits. One may start being too specific, obsessed actually, about the type and amount of food they eat. It becomes an addiction
when they literally start measuring the amount. They may also entirely avoid eating.
Development of a strong need for approval. The statement, ‘does this make me look fat’ becomes a habit.
Irritability. They are always in a bad mood, and it gets worse when someone points out a change in their moods, behaviors and even appearance.
These are the most common anorexia symptoms. If one suspects themselves or someone else of having this condition, they should seek help promptly.
Development of anorexia results in psychiatric problems that might lead to suicide. Death is the ultimate fatal ending of this illness. Be warned. There are several
ways in which one can become Anorexic very fast and it includes the following:
They asked many 'how to become anorexic' ...
The baby-food weight loss dietary
This is one of the ideal and common ways in which one can be anorexic. In fact, it is one of the excessive diets favored by some Hollywood celebrities like
Jennifer Aniston. It is quite simple to be anorexic with this procedure; you just need to ingest many baby foods. These foods are very nutritious and they are often
pureed for infants. To get quick and fast results, you are supposed to take that baby food diet with some plenty of water, coffee, and even alcoholic beverages.
This weight reduction plan is quite fantastic since it is not expensive and yields effective weight loss as compared to other weight loss programs.
The 5-Bite Weight-Reduction Plan
This is one of the best weight loss dietary plans that perfectly fit those people who want to learn the right way to be anorexic. Just like the previous plan, this plan
is simple to implement too. You just need to take five bites of food (no more no less!) as your morning meal, at lunch, and dinner. You are not limited to the type
of food that you should take; however, it should be at least nutritious and healthy. In the middle of the main five-bite meals, you are required to take some drinks
such as water, and vitamin supplements as much as possible. However, avoid taking drinks with calories.
The Air Weight Loss Plan
This is perhaps the third best plan that can be used to effectively achieve the above objective. It is the most radical procedure as compared to the previous two
plans on how to be anorexic. However, the procedure looks too simple since you are required to abstain from consuming any solid foods at all. You are required
to eat only fresh air! Nevertheless, how can this happen? What is amazing is that you should follow the whole procedure of preparation to take a meal- that is,
prepare your delicious meal, serve it in your dish, sit down for the meal, and so on. The last step is to spoon the food towards your mouth, and then stop there. Do
not drop any solid piece of the delicious meal on your mouth! You can compromise with soup and water as you pretend to be chewing the solid food, in this
case air food.
If any of the above stated plans and procedures are followed to the latter, then the objective of becoming an anorexic fast will be achieved as soon as possible.
Try any of the plans and you will never regret.
Tips of Knowing an Anorexic Person
Anorexia has no specific test that is used in the diagnosis of the complexity of this disease. The diagnosis of this disease is only made when a mental health
professional or a physician recognizes and identifies the possible symptoms, signs and the patterns of behavior and thinking that this illness characterizes. There
are several common medical diseases or illnesses that have the same features as those of anorexia and that is why before undergoing the diagnosis of this
disease, it is advisable that you undergo a complete and thorough evaluation and checkup to prove that you are suffering from anorexia.
Individuals Who Usually Develop Anorexia?
Anorexia being a complex eating disorder has several key features such as the denial to maintaining of a body weight that is health, having a body image that is
distorted and also having an intense fear of weight gain. All these are eating disorders and in most cases they tend to occur in the adolescence stage and they
are likely to develop faster throughout the lifetime of an individual. Predominantly, this disorder affects the young adult women and the girls who are in the stage
of adolescence but it also occurs in boys, younger girls, older women and men.
The other individuals who are at risk for these eating disorders include the dancers, models where thinness is said to be a professional requirement and also to
athletics. People with such disorders can also be diagnosed with psychiatric diseases such as substance abuse disorders, anxiety and depression. Presences of
anxiety and depression disorders are very risky because they are likely to have an effect to an individual later in life.
Maintaining Your Weight Despite Being Anorexic Being anorexic does not mean that an individual cannot maintain his or her body weight and therefore it is
easy to recover from anorexia. There are main steps that are involved in the treatment of anorexia. They include:
Eating more food than before
Starting to change the way in which you usually think about food and yourself
Getting back to weight that is healthy
Use of medical treatment to treat anorexia
Use of counseling and therapy
Nutritional treatment and diet balance
It is therefore evident that you can be able to maintain your weight while you are still anorexic
